A long silver chain in the water is like the tentacle of a stinger, 20th - 21st November, 2021
A project at The Commonwealth of New Bayswater’s Post Office (East St Jetty, Walyalup/Fremantle) by Jessee Lee Johns for Fremantle Biennale 2021, that included a series of fragile sculptural pieces made from wire, organic materials (twigs, petals, seeds, grass, leaves) and my own trash, collected and kept in little boxes over many years. These jewellery-like objects were available for visitors to try on, wear away, exchange something for, keep in their pockets, return for fixing. I made them while thinking about love and loss, fragility, gifts, sentimentality, attachment, letting go and sharing.
